The Complete Cycle Biological Cultivation system is is designed to eliminate the fish's dependency on water changes in maintaining a safe, healthy aquarium environment. Up to 20 Gallons. Note:The 20 Gallon system consists of one filter tower.
Detailed Description...........
The Hi-Q Complete Cycle Filtration System
is designed to eliminate the fish keeper's dependency on water changes in maintaining a safe,
healthy aquarium environment. The
Hi-Q Complete Cycle Filtration System
provides the easiest and most efficient operation of the Nitrogen Cycle (biological filtration) for freshwater and marine aquarium environments.
The flow of water through the towers (and through the gravel bed of the aquarium) is
optimal for these bacteria to convert fish wastes (ammonia) into nitrite, and nitrite
into nitrates. Ammonia, nitrite and exceptionally high nitrate levels are harmful to
fish and aquatic invertebrates.
Additional chemical filtration is provided by the media inside the
Clean Magic
packs, and are replaced every other week. Nitrates are also removed by the natural actions of live plants,
which are encouraged to grow by the gravel bed of the under gravel filter.
If the top of your Complete Tower is 2 3/4 of an inch below water level the system requires an air pump to be attached to the airline tube.
The beneficial bacteria of the Nitrogen Cycle convert fish wastes (which are mainly ammonia - very dangerous to your fish) into nitrite (which is also very dangerous for your fish), and then convert nitrite into nitrates (which is also very dangerous for your fish). Up until now, the only way to lower nitrates in an aquarium was with lots of live plants, or by doing regular water changes.
Inside the towers of the Hi-Q Complete Cycle Aquarium Filter System are small cylinders that provide the growing environment for a third group of bacteria, which comeplete the Nitrogen Cycle by converting nitrates into harmless nitrogen gass, which simply escapes from the top of the aquarium.
Water changes done on a regular frequent basis are good for your fish - but research has shown 90% of hobbyits don't do water changes. With the
Hi-Q Complete Cycle Filter System, not doing water changes will not condemn your fish to a slow death from nitrate poisoning.
With the Hi-Q Complete Cycle Filter System the nitrates will not keep building, but rather they will level off at a reading that your fish can live with.
If you want to do water changes that is fine - but with the Hi-Q Complete Cycle Filter System you can skip doing water changes for months at a time. We do, however, recommend that whenever you introduce new fish to your tank, you do a 25% water change before letting the new fish into the tank.
"I am a 30-something married father of three. We have quite a busy life. We have always wanted pets but our life has little free time. Several times we considered fish and one day my wife came home with a three gallon tank and some fish.
The tank was nearly a total disaster. Fish died, kids cried and it wasn't fun. But, we liked having fish. Reading on MFT helped us alot! We then bought a 38 gallon tank. But the water changes.....oh no.... there wasn't much time for me to do these 20% water changes on a regular basis.
So here we are. Hi-Q is letting a novice fishkeeper test their system and see if I can keep my kid's fishies alive and save me time for playing with my kids instead of changing water, paying higher water bills and being yelled at by my wife for spilling water!!!"
"pH is a stable 7.5
Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrates all read at zero today."
Comments:" Its the weekend. This is me not doing a water exchange.
Instead, I will take the kids to confession, ccd, the mall and for a ride.
